MAW has developed a unique curriculum that looks at the total person.  If weight loss is your personal goal, we have a program that is specifically tailored to your needs. In fact, this page has provided you with a link to our special program.  Life is too short to sacrifice anything else before your own health!

In the times that we are living, food is everywhere.  We can’t go anywhere without seeing advertisements or vendors along street sides.  Even in our homes, our mouths are constantly salivating over desirable images that flash on the television of tasty foods (even though half the food is probably fake).  Food is becoming a recreation for us and it is naive to believe that marketers would hesitate to prey on this.  It has become too convenient for us to obtain food in our hands.  We don’t even have to move out of our comfortable lounging position on the couch to have 900 - calorie meals delivered to our door … or easily going through a drive-thru after a long sedentary day at work.  Even further, we can’t disregard that food has become a temporary relief for high stress in the culture we live in.

We at Martial Arts World want to restore you with hope and the power to know that YOU are the one who is in control of your life.  You are going to have a relationship with food for the rest of your life, so why not establish a healthy one!  Food is your fuel to give you the best energy for the things that are most important to you.  Whether it is weight loss or simply building healthy habits, our programs are designed to help live the life you deserve to!

Be smart!  Whether you live a day or a century, live with optimal health!  Don’t stuff your body with unnatural substances; it will only rebel.  Eat natural, nutritious foods and allow your body to work the way it is designed to.  Don’t try to conquer nature; cooperate with it.  If you take care of your body, it will take care of you.

Think about how kids eat.  They eat when they are hungry and finish when their bodies say they’re full.
Be mindful of what you eat and how much you are truly consuming.  Remember that the affects of satiety are fully felt approximately 26 minutes after eating.

--Nutrition Tips--

*Be in control of what you eat. Take ownership over your health and make yourself accountable to everything put into your mouth.
*Create a supportive environment. Share with others what your goals are so they will be encouraging in your efforts towards them.
*Avoid feelings of shame tied to certain foods. See food as fuel. It is a necessity for optimal performance!
*Eat only what you need. Gauge your activity level. You should consume only what you anticipate using within 2-3 hours.
*Eat nutritious snacks.  Remember that snacks are only to hold you over to the main meal.  They are what bridge the gap in between the meals so you are less likely to overeat.  Aim to eat 100-150 calories for your snacks.
