What is the Martial Arts World Action Movie Star Contest?
The 2007 Action Movie Star Contest is a search for the most innovative, creative, bravest, and most bold imaginative minds. This is a challenge in which students must submit a 5-12 minute long film that encompasses the Martial Arts World Philosophy with a dynamic, fun, original, and exhilarating film.
Who can participate in the contest?
The Action Movie Star contest is open to all students that are currently enrolled in any classes at any of the Martial Arts World.
What will the winner receive?
The winners of each division will have their videos posted on the Martial Arts World website (www.mawus.com). The triumphant videos of each individual school will move on to the national contest and compete with the other Martial Arts World Schools around the country.
What type of video should be submitted?
The winning video will incorporate the Martial Arts World Philosophy into an action-packed short film. The film should be no shorter than 5 minutes and no longer than 12 minutes in length.
How the winner will be determined?
• Video submissions will be judged in three separate divisions:
1) Junior Division: Ages 12 and under. 2) Middle Division: Ages 13-19.
3) Senior Division: Ages 20 and older.
• The videos will be judged on their content in five categories:
1) Originality: How original is your film?
2) Philosophy: Does it do a good job of incorporating the MAW Philosophy?
3) Martial Arts Action: Is the film action-packed, and is it quality action?
4) Entertainment Value: How entertaining is the film? Is it a snore-fest?
5) Dynamic Value: Is it a dynamic and captivating?
